The Philadelphia Phillies sent Domonic Brown outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 28-year-old now has the option to become a free agent if he opts out of his assignment. If he doesn’t opt out, Brown could start the 2016 season not on the main roster.
In his sixth MLB season, Brown did not produce all that well. The outfielder had a .228/.284/.349 batting line with 5 HR and 25 RBI over only 63 games. A concussion ended his season early, but the season marked another bad one after a few solid seasons to start his career.
Brown’s really going to have to prove himself if he wants to be in the lineup everyday whether it’s for the Phillies or with a new club next season. He’s showed at times that he could produce, but his numbers continue to drop little by little each season. In 2013, Brown had 27 HR with 83 RBI in his only All-Star season.
