Carson Wentz 2018 Outlook: Return From Injury, Back To Stardom
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles suffered a major loss in December when quarterback Carson Wentz tore his ACL, yet they still were able to win the Super Bowl. In 2018, Wentz is on track to be back in action in Week 1 and is ready to take the league by storm once again. In his 13 games last season, Wentz was an absolute terror to opposing defenses as he torched them for an average of 253 yards per game. He threw 33 touchdown passes, while only throwing seven interceptions and tacked on an additional 299 rushing yards.
Wentz hasn't seen his ADP drop too far despite uncertainty about his return date, but if it does come out that he will be 100 percent ready to go in Week 1, his ADP should rise as well. Wentz is currently being drafted in the fifth round as the QB5 being taken off the board. That is fair value for him, assuming that he returns to being the same player that he was before the injury, as he was enjoying an MVP-caliber season before the knee injury. He may see regression in his 7.5% TD% but still plays in a prolific offense and should be a solid starter each week.
