Point Guards Will Save Your Team During The Dead Month

I'll tell you right now, if you are looking for a big name player who is just going to play well through playoffs...you might be a little late for that train. BUT, in this article there are plenty of names that you can stream for the time being. None of these options carry a ton of longevity, but have been playing well recently and should help you these next two weeks. After Terry Rozier exploded versus the Clippers, scoring 26 points on 14 shots, his upside moving forward is going to continue to increase even with Kyrie Irving playing full minutes. Irving isn't coming into missed time, but for every game that he does end up missing, assuming Brad Stevens saves some of Irving's energy for playoffs, Rozier needs to be rostered in every standard league. With playoffs looming and for some starting, every stat is going to matter.

That being said, there are plenty of other point guards out there that should be coming into fair shares of production. With Isaiah Thomas being removed from the Nuggets rotation, Monte Morris and Malik Beasley continue to carry upside, while Goran Dragic is looking like his regular self with every game. His minutes aren't quite there, but when he is on the floor he is producing and contributing to the box score. It is late in the season, but Dragic is going to offer value to anyone looking for points, assists, and percentages here on out.

Make sure to stay updated on injuries and return times, but as far as I'm concerned, these next three players will see the biggest benefit. As a reminder, for standard (10-12 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 50% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Standard League Adds for Week 23

Chasson Randle, G  – Washington Wizards

Ownership: 0%

5.9 PPG / 1.9 APG / .456 FG% / 1.0 3MPG

Tomas Satoransky is still the starter and his minutes aren't in jeopardy, but Chasson Randle is coming on as of late and he has been able to find production even in limited minutes. Yes, he is barely contributing, but since he is offering value in points and three's, it's surprising how much he can help you. If he adds some steals or assists to his game log he can be a perfect nightly stream for anyone that just needs to fill a roster spot.

I wouldn't say drop anyone worthwhile for Randle because his statline will float around the same, 10-5-3 area moving forward, but since he isn't owned in any leagues, keep him on the back-burner in case you just need someone to play.

Rodions Kurucs, PF – Brooklyn Nets

Ownership 20%

9.0 PPG / 3.8 RPG / .8 APG / .7 BPG / .475 FG%

If you have been watching the Brooklyn Nets at all this year, there's one player who has proved himself to be a valuable future asset. Rodions Kurucs has been on a tear over the past week, and while his role in the offense allows him to play with confidence and get to his spots, it's going to continue for as long as the Nets are playing this season. Brooklyn focuses on their rotations and energy to win games, and while they do have the isolation players like Spencer Dinwiddie and D'Angelo Russell, without Kurucs on the wing going after rebounds and playing quality defense, the Nets backcourt would have barely any spacing.

Kurucs has found a groove and while he is more than capable of stretching the floor, he is doing way more than that. Instead of just being a shooter, Kurucs has adapted quickly to resorting to his teammates first, which in reality is great, but even better for fantasy since it leads to upside in assists and steals. He does offer value in scoring and three's, but as long as he is contributing in defensive categories, he needs to be played by anyone needing steals.

Cheick Diallo, PF/C – New Orleans Pelicans

Ownership 16%

5.7 PPG / 4.7 RPG / .623 FG% / .5 BPG

Chieck Diallo has been in an interesting position lately. First off, the Anthony Davis trade opened up a window of opportunity for him to start getting serious minutes, add in the lack of a true center on the Pelicans side and boom, you have double-double-esque production from a player most people wouldn't consider. There isn't much consistency about his game because he is literally just a seven-footer who stays in the paint, but that doesn't mean he carries zero value. His best games have been in games against notable big-men, so although you might need to monitor his outlook going forward, there are plenty of 10-10 games in store for him.
