Oakland A’s starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left AC joint during the off-season.
Pomeranz, 26, has dealt with an AC joint issue throughout the span of his five-year career. Apparently the issue has reached high enough threshold for him to go under the knife to fix it. There’s no reported timetable for rehab, but he’ll likely be back prior to Spring Training.

It was an up and down 2015 season for the left-hander. Pomeranz was used as a starter for nine games while coming out of the Oakland bullpen 44 times. He finished the season with a 5-6 record, 3.66 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
There’s no telling whether or not he’ll be a full-time starter heading into next season or if he’ll come out of the bullpen again. The A’s are a hard team to predict when it comes to their roster moves and 2016 will be no different.
