Hello everybody and welcome! The 2022 MLB season is heading towards the home stretch and we here at Rotoballer have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

MLB DFS Prop Picks for 8/19/22
Brady Singer over 6.5 strikeouts- At first glance, this total might look a bit steep, but Singer has hit this total in three of his previous five starts, including a 12-strikeouts performance against these Rays back on Just 23rd. The Rays have also struggled against right-handers as they are posting a 23.3% K rate against righties over the previous two weeks, which is ranked 10th-worst in the league over that span.
Tyler Anderson over 5.0 strikeouts - This is going to be tight as Anderson has only matched or eclipsed this total in nine starts this season, however, the matchup is ripe as can tonight against the Marlins. Over the previous two weeks, Miami is posting the highest K rate in baseball against left-handers with a rate of 34.1%. They are also posting just a 7.1% walk rate and a 52 wRC+ mark. THe spot simply does not get much better than this for a southpaw.
Kevin Gausman over 6.0 strikeouts - Gausman has matched or eclipsed this total in four of his previous six starts and has two double-digit strikeouts performances over that span. He will be facing the Yankees, who have been struggling mightily recently. Over the previous two weeks, the Yankees have posted a 26.9% K rate vs. righties, which ranks fourth-worst in baseball. They have also put up a putrid 72 wRC+ mark and paired that with a mediocre 8.1% walk rate.
Aaron Nola over 6.0 strikeouts - This is a number we are looking at based on past results as opposed to current trends. Nola has faced the Mets four times this season and has struck out a total of 29 batters across 24 1/3 innings pitched and has eclipsed this total in all three of his most recent starts against them. The Mets have been solid against righties over the previous two weeks (124 wRC+), but that K rate is still north of 21%, which certainly leaves the door open for Nola again tonight.
Other Recommendations - Matt Manning over 4.5 strikeouts, Paul Goldschmidt over 1.5 total bases
