MLB DFS Prop Picks for 8/7/22
Spenser Watkins over 4.0 strikeouts - Watkins has been doing much better in terms of strikeout rate in recent weeks and now has matched or eclipsed this total in five of his previous six starts. He will have a solid matchup today against the Pirates as they are currently posting a K rate of 23.7% against right-handers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked eighth-worst in the league over that span.
Kutter Crawford over 4.5 strikeouts - Crawford has been solid in terms of strikeouts thus far in 2022 as he is currently posting a 9.39 K/9 and has eclipsed this total in four of his previous six starts. He will be facing the Royals today, who are currently posting the highest K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 27.6% while also posting a paltry 83 wRC+ mark.
Corbin Burnes over 8.0 strikeouts - Burnes struggled in his last start when he allowed four earned runs and only stuck out six Pirates across 5 1/3 IP, but he has proven to be much better at home this season as noted by his 2.7 higher K/9 rate. He will be facing the Reds today, who have posted a 23.9% K rate vs. righties over the previous two weeks, which is ranked sixth-worst in baseball over that span. Burnes has also eclipsed this total in five of his previous eight starts.
Spencer Howard under 4.0 strikeouts - Howard has only hit or eclipsed this total in one of his previous seven starts and has also been lit up in two of his previous three starts as well as several others this season. He has a tough matchup on the books today against the White Sox as they are posting a K rate of just 21% vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which is ranked in the top half of baseball over that span.
