BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 28% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Ramon Laureano is known first and foremost for his incredible exploits on defense, such as gravity-defying diving catches and 96 MPH outfield assists. It may have flown under the radar how much of a power/speed threat he has been since he arrived in the majors: he has hit for 14 home runs and 15 steals (in 18 tries) in 402 MLB AB, and he has produced nine bombs with eight steals (in ten tries) through 246 AB of 2019. He's been especially hot over the last two weeks to the tune of three homers, four swipes, and a .268/.326/.512 slash in 41 AB.
While his strikeout rate is a bit high at 26.2%, he walks infrequently with a clip of 4.9%, and his .163 ISO is a bit underwhelming, his contact on batted balls has been fantastic (and his base-running is the proverbial cherry on top). He is hitting for 39.7% hard contact and 16.8% soft contact on a 0.97 GB/FB ratio, and he is scorching pitches off of his bat at a speed of 90.3 MPH on average. Once he's on the move, he has the athletic ability to rack up steals and stretch hits to the max with a team-leading sprint speed of 28.6 feet per second. His awe-inspiring highlights aside, Ramon Laureano is an asset that should be owned in every league with his demonstrated ability to produce power and speed figures at volume.
