The Texas Rangers activated Martin Perez from the disabled list. He will make his season debut on Friday against the Houston Texans, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The left-hander has been making his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent early during the 2014 season. Perez, 24, will be on the rubber against a sold Astros team that is fourth in the MLB in scoring.

In his final rehab start on Sunday, Perez was knocked around for five runs on 12 hits over six innings pitched. He had a solid 25/3 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings during his rehab stint.
When last seen in 2014, Perez was 4-3 with a 4.38 ERA in eight starts before suffering the injury. The best of his three MLB seasons was in 2013, which he finished with a 10-6 record with a 3.62 ERA.
The Rangers entered the All-Star break at 42-46 and six games back from the Angels for first place in the AL West. If Perez can bounce back, Texas could have a shot to make a run for October.
