The Texas Rangers have extended the $15.8 million qualifying offer to starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo, according to Evan Grant of Dallas Morning News.
Rangers extend QO to Yo Gallardo. Does this make it either/or but not both on Gallardo/Colby Lewis? https://t.co/7k2bOUptex

The 29-year-old Gallardo has been a model of durability over his nine-year career. After eight years with the Milwaukee Brewers, he had a successful year with the Texas Rangers. He posted a career-best 3.42 ERA with his 13-11 record. He continued establishing himself as an innings eater, reaching 184.1 innings.
His reliability for 180.0 or more innings will be a strong selling point to other teams as he seeks out a deal greater than the qualifying offer that he will more than likely reject.
