The Texas Rangers are expected to discuss a long-term contract extension with second baseman Rougned Odor.
The 21-year-old is under team control through 2019 but the Rangers want to lock up Odor now. Texas will have to wait until after the World Series to start the works of a new contract.
After a slow start to the season, Odor was demoted to the minors. When he came back to the team, he delivered a .292/.334/.527 batting with 15 HR and 52 RBI over his final 91 games of the regular season. It was a bumpy second big league season but it was a great finish for the youngster. He finished the season with a .261 BA, 16 HR and 61 RBI.
Odor had a .278 BA with 1 HR and 2 RBI, 7 Runs scored throughout the ALDS for the Rangers. He was one of the reasons Texas was able to almost knockout the Toronto Blue Jays and advance to the ALCS.
