The Tampa Bay Rays will activate Desmond Jennings from the 60-day DL on Friday, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
Jennings has been dealing with a knee injury that has forced him out of action with the exception of 18 games all season. The outfielder will add speed and depth to a Rays team that has won four straight games while now only 1 1/2 games out of the second Wild Card spot in the American League.
Jennings has been playing in rehab games since the beginning of August. He’s proved that he’s healthy enough to be back on the main roster. Now it’s a chance for him to live up to the hype for the final stretch.
Throughout his six-year career, Jennings has a career .248 BA with an average of 15 HR and 55 RBI per season, but he can never seem to stay healthy. At the very worst, he will add depth to the Rays roster when he returns.
