BALLER MOVE: Add standard 12+ team leagues (bye week add only)
OWNED IN: 34% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Last week Richard Rogers had his best game of the season versus the Carolina Panthers last week with five catches for 19 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets. The nine targets Rodgers received last week was tied for third-most for tight ends with Owen Daniels & Martellus Bennett. It is unlikely that Rodgers will continue to see that amount of targets, so his value in PPR leagues is minimal at this point.
This week the Packers will be looking to get back on the winning track versus a struggling Detroit Lions team. This season the Lions defense have allowed six touchdowns in eight games to opposing tight ends. The Lions defense in the red zone has allowed a touchdown to opposing teams 59% of the time this season (18th-best). That's what makes Rodgers worth a pickup--he gets usage in the red zone. However, his overall value is touchdown-dependent, so if you are in a deep league Rodgers is a nice plug-and-play in standard leagues but his value is nothing more than a TE2. If you are in a PPR league continue monitoring to see if he will continue to see six or more targets on a weekly basis.
