BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 55% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson is the type of boom or bust player that is frustrating to own at times, but his usage rate shows that now may be the time to buy. On top of his increased role in Sam Darnold's offense, both Quincy Enunwa and Terrelle Pryor are nursing injuries for Gang Green. Given that Darnold appears to have more of a grasp of the offense, it is a good thing to have the WR1 in New York.
Many flocked to Anderson when he caught three balls for 123 yards and two TD in Week 4 and, while he did not catch a TD on Sunday, he did drop a perfectly thrown deep ball against the Colts that would have been a TD. The big play receiver has averaged 15.1 yards per catch on the 119 receptions in his career, so this is a player that has demonstrated that he can make a maximum impact with minimum usage. He has been targeted at least five times in four of the last five games and, even though he has topped 50 receiving yards only once this season, Anderson looks like he is prone for a breakout.
The Vikings, who the Jets face this week, are 12th against WR and a start lined up against Xavier Rhodes may have some fading Anderson this week. While Rhodes may be the best corner in football, Anderson's skill set does dictate that even the slightest mistake may lead to Anderson breaking out for a big play. Considering that Darnold is coming off of his best week as an NFL player, Anderson is in play as a flex option and addition in deeper leagues.
