Hansel Robles has been suspended three games for “intentionally” throwing a pitch in the direction of Darin Ruf’s head.
The New York Mets reliever was throwing at the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman in response to Yoenis Cespedes being thrown at earlier. Cespedes injured his hand and wrist when he was drilled. At the time, the Mets were unsure whether it was going to damper the outfielder’s chance at playing in the postseason but luckily for New York, the x-Rays came back negative.

If Robles decides not to appeal, he’ll be done for the regular season. He would be eligible to return with the team if he makes the postseason roster.
"The only guy who wasn't ready was the umpire, to be honest," Mets manager Terry Collins MLB.com. "When you see the replay, Bob wasn't even in his stance yet. But as I explained to [Robles], you can't miss that bad. It's one thing to miss inside if the catcher's sitting in, but up around the head is something that I certainly didn't understand."
