BALLER MOVE: Add for PTS and 3PM
OWNED: 54% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: I’ll be honest. I was definitely skeptical of Rodney Hood as a viable fantasy option this season, but he is growing on me. Hood has won the starting SG spot (for now) over Alec Burks, and if he continues to shoot this well, it should stay that way.
Hood will mostly help you in PTS and 3PM, averaging 15.3, and 1.3 respectively, but he has also helped his current owners by averaging 3.0 REB, and 2.7 AST a game. While I don’t believe he’ll average that many assists by seasons end, everything helps, and Hood will definitely contribute in multiple categories every night.
Keep an eye on his playing time, especially as Burks gets more comfortable in the offense after being out last year due to injury. In addition, Gordon Hayward has been playing like the Monstars stole his basketball skills, which may be contributing to some of Hood’s production right now.
Bottom Line: For now Hood is a solid add if you need help with PTS and 3PM, or if you are just in need of a consistent guy to round out your roster. He does have a pretty high ceiling, and I would not be surprised if he was above 80% owned by seasons end.
