BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: The Tigers have gotten quite a performance out of Ronny Rodriguez, an unheralded utility infielder who didn't do much with the bat last year. 2019 has been a different story however, as the shortstop is slashing a tidy .294/.337/.671 with six home runs and two steals in just 23 games played.
With injuries and ineffectiveness plaguing the Tigers infield, there is reason to believe that Rodriguez will hold down an everyday role for this team throughout the season, which could easily result in 15/15 with a solid batting average.
A look under the hood shows that Rodriguez boasts a ridiculous 13.8% barrel rate and a 44.6% hard hit rate. While both of those will probably come down when his sample size increases, it's clear he is seeing the ball really well right now.
Plus, he hit 17 home runs and swiped 15 bases in 2017 with Triple-A, and hit 14 home runs and had 12 steals between Triple-A and the big leagues last year, so regular at-bats in the show should make him relevant in 14+ team leagues, and could put him on the 12-team radar as well if this power surge continues.
