The Chicago Sox are reportedly going to trade Jeff Samardzija, according to FOX Sports.
With the White Sox 13 games back from first place in the AL Central, they are in a “listening mode” about trading Samardzija, according to the report. He’s “most likely to go.”
Sources: #WhiteSox in “listening mode.” Samardzija most likely to go; only potential free agent of significance. Team also could add.

It’s been a down year for the 30-year-old who is 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA. Samardzija is a free agent after this season so the question is what can the Sox get in return for the right-hander since the team he goes to will only have him on the roster for two or so months.
With 1.23 WHIP and 105/26 K/BB ratio through 132 1/3 innings, Samardzija could still strike batters out at a fast rate. Besides his four-run outing against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, he’s only allowed more than three runs once over his last six outings. It could be the right time to acquire the starting pitcher, and it could be a move that puts one team over the hump.
