The idea is to identify players that have a plausible path to be the high-priced free agent in the coming weeks. The bottom of your fantasy roster should always be used to cycle through high upside pickups that can easily be cut to speculate on another player. Heading into Week 11 of the fantasy football season, and preparing for a playoff run, we are focused on players with sneaky upside.

Jalen Hurts (QB, PHI) 1% rostered
The Eagles surprised most when they drafted rookie QB, Jalen Hurts, in the second round of the real NFL draft. Usually, a second-round pick is a player that teams expect to make an immediate contribution. Current Eagles QB, Carson Wentz, is in his prime so the pick raised some eyebrows. Saturday players that are dominant don’t always translate well into dominant Sunday players. However, the magnitude of Hurt’s college production, specifically as a runner, is intriguing from a fantasy football standpoint.
During Hurts’ last year at Oklahoma, he threw for a respectable 3,850 yards with 32 TD and eight INT. The upside in fantasy comes from QBs that run and Hurts rushed for an eye-popping 1,298 yards and 20 rushing TD. Carson Wentz has an injury history and has not been playing his best football consistently this season. There is a path where Hurts makes starts this year. There is QB1 overall upside with Jalen Hurts, and that is reason enough to find a roster spot for him even in single-QB leagues.
D'Onta Foreman (RB, TEN) 1% rostered
We told you to consider Foreman as a zero dollar bid last week. He is still only 1% rostered so he belongs in this column once again. Foreman mixed in for snaps in place of Derrick Henry on the team's first offensive possession and was left wide open on a rollout by Ryan Tannehill to score a TD. Foreman’s role continues to grow slightly each week. In 2019, Derrick Henry missed Week 16. If Henry is held out or “saved” for the playoffs, Foreman is in a good spot to be a part of your championship run.
Foreman may not yield any reliable production until he is called upon, or maybe never at all, but he is one of the high upside “league winning” type of players you should keep on your roster for a zero dollar bid. Just keep an eye on rookie Darrynton Evans coming off IR to make sure he doesn't win the backup role that would have been his had he stayed healthy to start the season.
Devin Singletary (RB, BUF) 75% rostered
You may be asking yourself how can a player like Singletary be on a waiver wire list much less a zero dollar bid list? His ownership is 75%. It's easy, Singletary has been a disappointment for fantasy this season, especially over the last six weeks where he scored double-digit fantasy points only once- and the Bills are headed for a bye. Thus, Singletary and other players like him are being dropped out of necessity in some leagues for other important pickups.
Working the post-waiver system is often about being opportunistic, and watching for key players who were dropped and buried in the overnight transaction list. Good owners always peruse the post-transaction log. The case for Singletary is we still believe he is a good player on a good offense. As the weather turns cold, the Bills are built to run more. Should co-starting RB Zack Moss suffer an injury during your fantasy playoffs, Singletary would be worthy of a top-15 RB ranking that week.
