Houston Astros outfielder George Springer will officially being a rehab assignment on Saturday with Double-A Corpus Christi, according to The Houston Chronicle.
Springer, 25, will play two or three games in the minors before he returns to Houston next week. The 29-year-old has been out since he was hit by a pitch on his wrist on July 2.
Hinch says Springer will start his rehab tomorrow at Class AA Corpus Christi.

"George is ready to go," Astros manager A.J. Hinch told The Houston Chronicle. "Today was one of the best days he's had." Springer is hoping to be activated by the Astros sometime next week if all goes well. He's been sidelined since early July with a fractured right wrist.
Springer has a .264 BA with a .822 OPS, 13 HR, 29 RBI and 14 SB in 75 games this season. He’ll start regularly in the outfield alongside trade deadline acquisition Carlos Gomez.
