Stanton (Hand) Return Delayed Again

The possible return of Giancarlo Stanton has been put on hold again because of an abnormal amount of scar tissue in his hand.

The Miami Marlins slugger has been trying to get back on the field before the 2015 season ends but injuries continue to pile up and delay his return. Stanton has been out since late June following surgery to remove the hamate bone from his left hand. The injury hasn’t healed as expected, which could force the end of the $325 million man's season.

The Marlins are 21 games below .500. Their postseason hopes have been gone for quite some time. The safest move might be to shut down Stanton and get him healthy for 2016.

The 25-year-old has a .265 BA with a .952 OPS, 27 HR and 67 RBI throughout only 74 games this season. When he’s healthy, he might be the most feared hitter in the National League. Unfortunately for the superstar, health has been an issue throughout his career.
