Stefon Diggs Sits Out of Practice and Julian Edelman Was Limited

2015 Fantasy football surprise Stefon Diggs did not participate in Minnesota Vikings practice on Wednesday. The rookie is reportedly dealing with a hamstring injury, but isn’t at risk of missing the team’s Week 9 matchup against the St. Louis Rams.

Through just four games this season, Diggs has hauled in 25 passes for 419 yards and two touchdowns. He has reminded some people of a young Antonio Brown. He has emerged as the best receiver on the Vikings team and has earned a starting job over Charles Johnson.

Diggs can be considered a WR2 in Week 9 despite having a tough matchup against the Rams. It’s clear that he has a great relationship with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and he has a great grasp of the offense. He has shown remarkable hands and he has earned the trust of his coaching staff.

If you were able to get Diggs off waivers earlier this season, consider yourself lucky. You found a gem who you can start every single week.

Speaking of wide receivers you can start every week, New England Patriots’ Julian Edelman was reportedly limited in practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury. This is a new injury for Edelman. Unfortunately, the Patriots have always been hush hush when it comes to injuries, so we don’t know the extent of it just yet.

If I had to guess, I would say Edelman will definitely suit up for the team against the Washington Redskins in Week 9. And Edelman is a WR1 regardless of who the Patriots are playing.

Through seven games this season, Edelman has hauled in 52 passes for 584 yards and six touchdowns. He is a PPR machine and quarterback Tom Brady looks in his direction early and often in every game.

There aren’t a lot of sure things in fantasy football, but Edelman has been one of them. As long as he suits up, you can count on him seeing a ton of targets. And even if the defense is keying on him and he’s unable to get a lot of receiving yards, he’ll still catch the football and score points for fantasy football owners in leagues that give points per reception.

In addition to Edelman and Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski and running back Dion Lewis should be considered every week starters as long as they suit up. The Patriots offense has yet to be slowed down this season.
