BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues / All AL-Only & 2-Catcher Leagues
ANALYSIS: Billy Beane's swiss army knife Stephen Vogt has been quietly tearing the cover off the ball the past few weeks, making him the most recent addition to our waiver wire sleepers list. We'll get into the stats shortly, but here's the most important thing to note: he is catcher eligible, and is getting every day ABs. That automatically give you an advantage in fantasy baseball leagues as all catchers get days off, but Vogt is getting full-time ABs. He has been playing catcher, outfield and first base for Oakland, and they love his bat in the lineup.
Now the stats. Over the past 7 days, Vogt has a .458 AVG with 1 HR, 4 RBI and 4 Runs. Over the last 14 days, a .419 AVG with 5 RBI, 5 Runs, 1 HR and 1 SB. And over the last 30 days, a .382 AVG with 13 RBI, 10 Runs, 3 HR and 1 SB. Oh, and all of these stats don't include today's game where he went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI. If you play in an AL-Only or 2-Catcher league, he must be owned. If you play in a deeper league, and aren't happy with your catcher, add him now off the waiver wire. And if you just lost Molina, Vogt is the guy I'd be targeting if he's still available. Currently only owned in 15% of Yahoo leagues, he's still widely available. Grab him now before it's too late.
