BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 38% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: You have definitely heard about the signing of Kenny Golladay with the Giants, am I right? Sure. But, I'm sad to report, Sterling Shepard stays strong as Big Blue's no. 1 wide receiver for another season, whether you like it or not. It is what it is, folks, and I just don't make the rules. The numbers speak for themselves here, and after finishing as New York's WR1 last season (162.5 PPR points in 12 games for a 13.5 FPPG average), it seems like Shepard wants more of that this year.
Not that he won't have it if he can play to his Week 1 exploits for the full campaign. Even with QB Daniel Jones at the helm, Shepard went on to lead the squad in targets (9), receptions (7), receiving yards (113), and touchdowns (lone Giants scorer on Sunday). Shepard was on the field for 95% of all Giants' offensive snaps, which is borderline insane. The 24.3 PPR points on the day marked Shepard's third straight game (going back to last season) of scoring at least 22 PPR points after he got to 22.7 and 33.6 to close the 2020 season. Not bad.
Shepard is part of a stacked offense that features Golladay and--once healthy--all of Evan Engram, Darius Slayton, rookie Kadarius Toney, and RB Saquon Barkley. It's not that Shepard will play more than 90% of the team's snaps weekly because the offense is loaded as hell, but for someone who clearly brings a lot to the table while not taking anything away from it, finding him available in 60%+ leagues is nonsensical. Now, stop reading this post and go add Shepard to your roster; there is no way this transaction doesn't pay off when all is said and done.
