BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Steve Pearce has already hit a career-high nine home runs-- before the all-star break. At age 31, it is unlikely that this is a sign of things to come for the eight-year veteran, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't ride the wave while he's hot. He hit a cool Jose Abreuesque .361/.432/.667 for the month of June. He has also added 5 HR and 13 RBIs this month, all coming in his last 11 games. Now, given his lack of production in the past, it's likely he won't keep this up for the whole year. Still, short-term, if he keeps producing, why not? Plus, with Nelson Cruz cemented in the DH spot, Pearce has found himself slowly becoming the Orioles' everyday left fielder. Pearce will likely never be a viable mixed league option, but he is a definite sleeper option in AL-Only and very deep mixed leagues for a team looking for some extra power.
