Dillon Gee has been place on the DL due to a groin issue. The 29-year-old suffered the injury during last weekend's outing against the Nationals.
Gee is 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA. He’s pitched a combine 19 and 2/3 innings in his last three starts, allowing a combined four runs.
For Mets fans that have been patiently waiting, top prospect Noah Syndergaard will make his season debut on Tuesday, taking the place of Gee in the rotation for the time being. He has pitched very well in AAA this year, racking up 34 K over 29 2/3 IP to go along with a 1.82 ERA and 0.94 WHIP.
