Teddy Bridgewater (QB, DEN) - Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues

OWNED IN: 17% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: I just can't hate Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy B is what he is, but what he does he does perfectly. Forget about booming days, or spectacular performances coming from him. Bridgewater is a safe-first quarterback and that won't change at this point in his career (you won't believe me but he's into his 7th pro-season of play and 8th overall if we count the year he missed due to injuries) but that doesn't mean he's still a reasonably-viable fantasy asset to have in deeper leagues.

Bridgewater opened his Broncos tenure in Week 1 completing a sky-high 77.8% of his 36 attempts for a couple of TDs and 264 yards. Not happy enough with that, he added 19 yards on the ground on just 3 logged carries. And just yesterday, facing a very worrying Jacksonville Jaguars squad primed to make another no. 1 pick in a few months, Bridgewater went on to rack up 21.2 FP (he got to 20.5 in W1) to the tune of 26 completions out of 34 passing attempts for 328 yards through the air to go with 2 more TDs. The rushing wasn't there at all, but neither was any picks nor fumbles.

The Broncos have lost arguably their best WR in Jerry Jeudy to injury already, but the likes of Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick, along with TE Noah Fant, have been able to step up their game and contribute good performances that have kept Teddy above water. From QB15 in Week 1 to QB9 this past weekend, Bridgewater should be good to finish as a top-16 quarterback in most matchups, which makes him a must-add for those in 2QB formats and even a low-risk, high-floor, low-ceiling bet in 14+ team leagues.
