ANALYSIS: Unfortunately for Saints fans, Drew Brees has missed the majority of the season so far with a thumb injury in Week 2 against the Chargers. Teddy Bridgewater has stepped up in a big way and the Saints are currently 6-1. While Brees is expected to return in the next week or two, Bridgewater remains a waiver wire option for your Superflex and 2QB leagues. He gets the Cardinals in Week 8 and is in play as a starter once again.

Bridgewater has nine total touchdowns on the season in his six starts and he continues to look solid. While this may be just a pickup for one week against the Cardinals, as the Saints will have their bye week the following week in Week 9, he’s definitely worth picking up as a starter in 2QB leagues. Brees could potentially end up coming back in Week 10 when the Saints take on the Falcons, but if he misses any more games, Bridgewater steps in as a nice streaming option.
