Terrelle Pryor (WR, NYJ) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 2% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: There always seems to be an aura of reluctance surrounding Terrelle Pryor in regard to how fantasy football managers value him, but that might have to change considering Quincy Enunwa is likely going to be out of commission for a month. Pryor's volume of use has been relatively moderate, with his 22 targets and 14 receptions from Sam Darnold both ranking fourth on the Jets roster behind Enunwa, Robby Anderson, and Jermaine Kearse. However, his ability to make the most out of his opportunities and explode for huge plays has paid off handsomely for New York over their last couple of games. Pryor has manifested his 14 receptions into a solid 235 receiving yards through six games, which ranks third on the team. More impressively is that Pryor's 16.8 yards-per-reception figure ranks second-best on the Jets, while he has scored a touchdown in two consecutive weeks, giving him the second-highest TD total on the depth chart.

Terrelle Pryor has certainly been up and down to kick off 2018 and has been known to disappear often and derailing his own hype-train, which is especially easy to do with Darnold only passing for 224.3 yards per game with nine touchdowns and seven picks thus far into his rookie campaign. To this point, Darnold has relied mostly on Enunwa and Anderson as his go-to receiving options while also utilizing Bilal Powell in the passing game out of the backfield. With Enunwa out this past week and the Jets missing his 287 yards from 22 receptions out of 43 targets, Darnold felt comfortable targeting Pryor with higher frequency and this led to the Ohio State alum producing 57 yards and a score off of five catches out of six targets. Not to mention that in his limited opportunity on the field and in the Jets limited passing-game he has already caught two passes on three targets in the red-zone. Terrelle Pryor has yet to be cleared for week seven due to a groin injury he sustained in his week six outing, but if he is able to play in this week's home game against the Vikings, look for Sam Darnold to target him with healthy volume for some big-play chances.
