ANALYSIS: Now that Tim Patrick has played 12 games, we can easily split his season into two halves which align with the before/after bye-week games of Denver. In the first half of the year Patrick averaged 11.7 PPR points per game while posting his highest (23.3) and lowest (4.4) marks of the season barring the goose egg from W12. In the second half, Patrick is at 12.2 PPR per game while including that 0.0 performance.
Patrick is getting better the older the season grows, and he's a much steadier performer now than he was to kick the year off. Patrick finished inside the top-30 WRs only once through the first six game of the year, while he's been a top-25 WR in three of the past four and in the two prior to that he finished as a top-35 WR.
Although Patrick couldn't do a lot in a day to forget against New Orleans (2 targets, zero FP), that was more of a fluke than anything else. Patrick has scored 10+ PPR points in every other game since W9 (included), topping at 20.4 a week ago. He just closed a 12.6 PPR-game this past Sunday in which he caught 3-of-5 targets for 36 yards and a TD. That makes it back-to-back scoring matches for Patrick.
The Broncos are missing offensive talent this season, and that has made Patrick a vital part of the offense. Patrick has the second-most targets among Broncos and the highest PPR-average among the team's pass-catchers. Denver's ROS schedule isn't great, but it isn't the worst either. The Broncos face the 12th-best defense against WRs next, then go against a tougher 7th-best D and close the season against 20th-ranked Las Vegas.
If only because of his role in the offense and what he's done of late, Patrick should be a nice addition in every slightly-deep league and a good FLEX option with WR2 upside weekly.
