NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 4/2/22

Yesterday went relatively according to plan outside of a few upsets. Tonight should not be much different with multiple favored teams, making it a lo trickier to be different and I will do my best in guiding you through this seven-game slate on DraftKings starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

There are only two teams playing on the second-half of a back-to-back: Tampa Bay and St Louis. The Canadiens and their league second-worst 3.72 GA will host the surging Lightning, while Matthews and the Leafs and their league third-best 3.7 GF will look to dominate the Flyers.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Jeremy Swayman- DK $8.5K || FD $8.1K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Based on the pricing and the matchups for tonight, we are stuck paying a premium in hope that he delivers. Swayman has faltered a little as of late, but many could say the entire team as a whole has been less than stellar defensively. However, this is the perfect spot for a rebound against a team that is hurting for goals.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Markstrom(DK $8.1K || FD $7.7K), Campbell(DK $8K || FD $8.4K, Wedgewood(DK $7.9K || FD $7.5K), Hellebuyck(DK $7.8K || FD $7.2K)

NHL DFS Centers

Austin Matthews-DK $9.4K || FD $10.3K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

He has finally done it. Matthews has hit the big 5 0. Now the top-line pivot can worry about putting his team in a good position for the playoffs. To top it all off, now he gets to play against another weak defense who happens to concede a plethora of goals. Over the last five appearances for Matthews, he has 4 goals, 4 assists and 20 shots.

Brayden Point- DK $6.2K || FD $8K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Ever since the trio of Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov have been put together, Tampa Bay has been an unstoppable force. Point surprisingly has also been scoring more goals than assisting goals. This bodes well for the young pivot and he is expected to replicate a similar performance from last night against the lowly Canadiens.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Bergeron(DK $7.4K || FD $7.3K), Hintz(DK $6.6K || FD $6.8K), Hartman(DK $5.9K || FD $6.1K), Dubois(DK $5.3K || FD $6K), Trocheck(DK $4.8K || FD $5.4K), Haula(DK $3.5K || FD $4.2K)

NHL DFS Wings

Blake Wheeler- DK $5.3K || FD $7.2K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

Wheeler has been quite successful since his move down to the second-line of the Jets with pivot Pierre Luc-Dubois. The two players play a very similar style of game and it is benefitting them greatly. Since Wheeler’s move there, in his three matches, he has 2 goals, 1 assist and 9 shots. The Kings are no slouch, however, their defense continues to struggle and it should provide Wheeler with the perfect opportunity.

Taylor Hall- DK $5.2K || FD $5.8K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

I feel weird highlighting good Taylor Hall play right now, but here we go. Hall is surprisingly playing well recently, bagging 3 goals, 3 assists and 14 shots in his last five games. It seems that Boston's second-line is finally clicking on all cylinders with both of his teammates Erik Haula and David Pastrnak also producing too. Columbus does not have a great defense and they continue to get run over by powerhouse offenses. This should be no different.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Marchand(DK $7.4K || FD $9K), Marner(DK $7.3K || FD $9.6K), Stamkos(DK $6.7K || FD $8.6K), Robertson(DK $6.6/3K || FD $8.1K), Toffoli(DK $4.7K || FD $6.1K), DeBrusk(DK $3.4K || FD $5.4K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Hampus Lindholm- DK $4.1K || FD $4.2K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

The ex-Duck seems to be finally settling into the Bruins lineup. He now has 2 assists, 11 shots and 3 blocked shots in his four games since the trade. Lindholm's two-way style is showing on the ice now too, assisting both offensively and defensively when needed. The most important part of Lindholm is his salary. On DraftKings he is only $4.1K. Take his salary, his increased form and the matchup he is in and you have a recipe for success.

Rasmus Ristolainen- DK $3.8K || FD $4.3K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

Ristolainen is nothing to write home about, however, he has been a peripheral machine at times this season. The defender loves blocking shots and he is in the perfect matchup to do just that today. Toronto is a fast-paced team if you don't know by now and they love shooting. Ristolainen does take his fair share of shots too, but the bulk of his point volume today will be getting in the blocking lanes.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Hedman(DK $6.9K || FD $7K), McAvoy(DK $5.8K || FD $6.4K), Reilly(DK $5.7K || FD $6.3K), Heiskanen(DK $4.6K || FD $4.7K), Heinola(DK $2.8K || FD $4K)
