ANALYSIS: There is a very real chance Week 5 of the 2020 season comes down in history as "Fulgham vs. Claypool: Battle of WW Pickups". Through SNF, both WRs are locked into the no. 1 and no. 2 PPR leaderboards. Claypool was insane with his 42.6 points, but Fulgham's 31.2-point performance was wild too considering how it came out of nowhere.
Fulgham is a former Detroit sixth-round pick, was dropped by the Lions, signed by the Packers, then waived by Green Bay, and ultimately signed by Philly to a one-year deal just over a week ago. All Fulgham had done prior to this W5 game was being forced into W4 action playing 37 snaps as the Eagles couldn't find a warmer body to put in one of their WR slots.
And then, the explosion. Fulgham already showed some upside a week ago when in just 37 snaps and 3 targets he caught 2 balls for 57 yards and a score. He finished the day with a good-not-great 13.7 PPR points against San Francisco in Week 4. But man, Week 5 sealed the deal for Fulgham as a must-add player in every single league out there.
The Eagles keep losing players, and in an injury-ravaged squad, Fulgham was targeted 13 (!) times yesterday, hauled in 10 of those passes, racked up 152 yards (the eighth-highest mark in a single game this season), and put the cherry on top by scoring a touchdown. This is not your weekly Fulgham, sure, but you better be doing pirouettes to get him to your roster.
