Trent Grisham (OF, SD) - Fantasy Baseball Draft Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target ~260s

CURRENT ADP: ~290 overall

ANALYSIS:

There is a lot of upside for both power and speed here that may be getting overlooked a bit. Grisham is ticketed to be the starting center fielder in San Diego, and he has both Statcast metrics and a minor league track record to back him up as a very promising value pick. His 16-degree launch angle and 88 mph exit velocity keep him in the optimal area for home runs, and his 34.2% Sweet Spot% suggests more room for power growth.

Grisham ripped it up in the minors last year, most notably with 26 HRs in 97 games before being promoted to the bigs. While he did not exhibit a whole lot offensively initially, his Sprint Speed of 29.1 was 42nd in the league was just behind Trevor Story and Mike Trout. Grisham stole 37 bases at High-A ball in 2017. His Walk Rate of 10.6 in the majors last year was also encouraging, and he has performed respectably in that category in the minors. At an ADP of 291, Grisham is a toolsy type with a real opportunity for playing time and 20/20-plus potential.
