BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 29% of leagues
ANALYSIS: San Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham finds himself hitting in the two-spot, at least against right-handed pitching and is making the most of it with a .267/.389/.567 slash line. He's homered twice and swiped two bags in eight games so far while scoring nine runs and driving in five himself. The Padres are currently the leading run-scorers on the season with 52 and also lead baseball in steals accounting for 14 of the 92 total stolen bases in the MLB so far (15% of the league's total).
Even if Grisham slips down to ninth in the order against left-handed pitchers (which is where he hit against the only two lefty starters the Padres have faced during their opening two games to the season), it shouldn't devalue him much as he's on the stronger side of any such platoon. With Fernando Tatis Jr. entrenched in the leadoff spot, there's value hitting ahead of him in the ninth spot or behind him at second, offering up both plenty of RBI and Run scoring opportunities. Grisham should be rostered and started in all leagues as someone who will contribute in all counting stats and even more so in leagues counting OBP as he's walked six times in 37 plate appearances and had a career 15.76% BB% in the Minors.
