Troy Tulowitzki felt good after a throwing session on Tuesday.
The Toronto Blue Jays shortstop suffered muscle bruises on his upper back and suffered a small crack in his left shoulder blade during a collision with teammate Kevin Pillar last weekend. Tulowitzki has missed eight straight games and counting because of the injury.
Troy Tulowitzki threw today. Said it felt good; he's optimistic. Hasn't hit yet. That'll be more of a challenge for injured left shoulder.

The five-time All-Star was never placed on the DL, which means he could be back soon. The next test will be some hitting drills. If there’s no pain or setbacks, Tulowitzski could be back with some time still left in the season.
In 39 games with the Blue Jays since being traded by the Colorado Rockies, the 30-year-old owns a .232 BA with 5 HR and 17 RBI. After a red-hot start, he’s cooled down. Despite holding a 3 1/2-game lead over the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East, Toronto needs a healthy Tulowitzki simply because it makes an already deep lineup that much better.
