BALLER MOVE: Add in leagues of 12+ teams
ROSTERED IN: 42% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The positional eligibility alone is fantasy gold, but what if a guy is hitting .265 while providing that? Not only that, but he is batting cleanup in an improving lineup. You probably want to know what you're going to have to pay to wrestle this player away from an opposing team, right? In the case of Ty France, you can get him for free in 58% of leagues.
France was acquired at the trade deadline last year as part of the Austin Nola trade with San Diego. At the time, he was hitting .309 with the Padres. He kept that up hitting .302 the rest of the way with Seattle. France picked up where he left off for the first month of the season, but a dismal May in which he hit just .190 with seven RBI over the entire month landed him on waivers in many leagues.
It's time to go back and get him. France got back on the fantasy radar by hitting .276 wtih five homers, 13 runs scored, and 12 RBI in June. His first four games in July have brought similar success with a .357 average and a pair of RBI. Playing in the Seattle lineup obviously has its limitations, but France is especially valuable if you're in a points league where strikeouts count against you. His 17.9% strikeout rate is in the 73rd percentile.
If you are on the lookout for someone who can provide short term value at almost all of the infield positions, France is your target. This is especially important in leagues with a shallow bench. At the very least, France should help your average, runs scored, and RBI in standard leagues.
