BALLER MOVE: Short Term Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 10% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Davante Adams is struggling with an ankle injury, which has given Ty Montgomery a chance to get some more looks from Aaron Rodgers. On Sunday against the Rams, we saw Montgomery reap the benefits of these added targets with a 31 yard catch and run for a touchdown. Expectations need to be tempered a bit of course, as Montgomery is still the third wide receiver behind Randall Cobb and James Jones. However, a third wideout in Green Bay's offense has more value than most.
Montgomery is versatile, and can play in both the slot and on the outside. He's quick and shows running back moves in the return game. Those in leagues that reward return yardage have probably had Ty on their radars already. Even standard league players could benefit from the potential of a kick return touchdown. The Packers will find a way to get the rookie open in space, and let him use his quickness to find the endzone. If Montgomery plays well, there's a chance he moves past Adams on the depth chart. He's a home run play, but the upside is legit so he's worth a flier.
