ANALYSIS: Tyler Duffey may have lost some of his luster after his most recent start. However, given that it was against the Blue Jays, I think Duffey deserves a mulligan. Before that outing, the Duff Man had only allowed five runs total and no more than three in any start. I was particularly impressed by Duffey's starts versus Detroit and Cleveland, where he looked dominant. Duffey's curve is filthy and even reminiscent of King Felix's hook. The fastball isn't very overwhelming, but he has good command and location.
Duffey gets a divisional battle against the defending champion Royals on Wednesday. It's in Minnesota and I think that makes Duffey a good bounce-back candidate. He'd been averaging close to a strikeout per inning before this last start so he can provide value across the boards. He's still widely available so grab him if you need some cheap pitching help.
