Ventura Will Start Game 3 Of WS For Royals

Yordano Ventura will start Game 3 of the World Series for the Kansas City Royals against the New York Mets.

Ventura will look to repeat his postseason success from last year against the San Francisco Giants. The right-hander allowed just two runs over 12 1/3 innings pitched through two starts. His first of possibly two World Series starts will come on the road in New York on Friday. If the series reaches a Game 7, there’s a good chance that Ventura will be on the mound for the Royals at home.

This postseason hasn’t been as successful as last year’s for the 24-year-old starter. In the ALDS, Ventura went a combined seven innings over two starts while allowing six runs. In the ALCS, he was a lot better. He allowed four runs over 10 2/3 innings pitched through two starts. His power game has been there in all of his starts as he’s struck out a combined 21 batters through a total of 17 2/3 innings.

Noah Syndergaard will be Ventura’s counterpart on Friday for a great matchup of young arms.
