Victor Cruz Running Routes; Austin Seferian-Jenkins Frustrated and Rishard Matthews Contract Update

Have you been holding onto New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz all season long just waiting for him to play in a game? Well, your patience may be about to pay off. Cruz is currently running routes in practice and seems close to returning.

Although Cruz is running routes, he has not progresses to cutting and/or planting on his foot, however that should happen shortly. After that, Cruz will begin doing some individual drills.

Cruz is still on tract to return in Week 12. Obviously he no longer has any value to redraft owners who are already out of the playoff hunt. However, if you’re a team in the playoff hunt, having Cruz on your roster could help you make a championship run.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews has been playing very well this season, but the team has yet to approach him regarding a contract extension. The 26-year-old likely wouldn’t have a hard time finding another team as a free agent if Miami lets him go. Through eight games he has 37 catches for 554 yards and four touchdowns.

The problem with the Dolphins is that they are stacked at the receiver position and probably feel like Matthews is expendable. The team also has Kenny Stills, Jarvis Landry and 2015 first round draft pick DeVante Parker.

Landry is the only receiver on the Dolphins roster who is sure to stay put for a while. He leads the team with 53 receptions, 535 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 95 yards rushing with another touchdown.

In other news, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is starting to get angry at the fact that he has not yet been cleared to play.

"That is a question you have to ask the medical staff," ASJ replied to a reporter when asked why he hasn’t been cleared yet, according to Joe Bucs Fans. "I’m doing my part, coaches are doing their part, everyone is doing their part, medical staff is doing their part."

ASJ has only participated in two games thus far this season. In those games he played great hauling in seven passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

There’s no doubt that the Bucs, and rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, would benefit from having the big tight end back in the lineup. As it is, Mike Evans is the only weapon Winston has in the passing game because Vincent Jackson has been out of action himself with a knee injury.

Whenever ASJ gets cleared to play, he can be considered a TE1.
