BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 14% of leagues
ANALYSIS: 24-year-old first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino came into the Kansas City Royals organization via the 11th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from Old Dominion University--far from the definition of "fanfare." However, after just three seasons and 898 AB in the minor leagues (with no season in 2020), Pasquantino has already arrived with the big league Royals, so far posting eight XBH (three HR, five doubles) and a .227/.315/.336 slash in his first 128 AB.
In his overall minor league time, Vinnie has accumulated 56 homers and a .293/.382/.574 slash, and this season in 250 AB for Triple-A Omaha, he holds 18 homers, three steals in four tries, and a .280/.372/.576 slash. Even with a slow MLB start, the metrics are all positive. He is only striking out at 15.8% while walking at 10.3%, he has an average exit velocity of 91.6 with a 49.5% hard hit rate, and an above-average fly ball rate, but his ISO is at just .109 with a .252 BABIP. With his plate discipline and power metrics appearing primed for success, the tide should turn for Vinnie Pasquantino quite soon.
