Edinson Volquez is planning to rejoin the Kansas City Royals in time for Game 3 of the World Series against the Mets in New York on Friday.
Teammate Yordano Ventura is the one who broke the news. The right-hander is slated to start Game 3 for the Royals, and will now have his teammate and friend returning to the clubhouse after the passing of his father.
Yordano Ventura just told me that he's spoken to Edinson Volquez and that Volquez is planning to rejoin the @Royals in time for Game 3.

Volquez isn’t slated to pitch until Game 5 on Sunday. If he returns with the team, he’ll have plenty of enough time to prepare himself for what would likely be an emotional start on Sunday. The Mets have to win at least one game for there to be a Game 5 on Sunday.
His Royals teammates will be happy to have him back as Ventura tries to lead the team to a 3-0 series lead. The 24-year-old has 10 runs in 17 2/3 innings this postseason. It hasn’t been the best for him but he has the ability to take over a game with his stuff.
