Week 10 Tight End (TE) Rankings Analysis
By Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades)
It’s disappointing that Manziel is likely to start for the Browns. It’s a blow for Gary Barnidge for sure. In a matchup where the Steelers give up the 5th most fantasy points to TEs I’m still starting Barnidge. If he can’t do well it’s going to be a bad bad sign for Barnidge any time that Manziel is at QB.
Kyle Rudolph is always a gamble at the TE position but this is the week to take a chance on him if you’re going to do it. The Raiders allow the most touchdowns to tight ends (9) and they have allowed a TE touchdown in all but one game. Even with Kyle Rudolph and his 22 yards per game this season I think he is a good play this week. I have him at TE11.
I’m not too far from the consensus on many TEs this week, but Ben Watson is one I don’t like. The Redskins are a bad defense that have surprisingly kept tight ends out of the end zone this season.
Brent Celek is the only tight end to score while just last week they managed to hold Rob Gronkowski to just 4 catches for 47 yards! With a weakness to RBs and WRs, I expect the Saints won’t force it to Watson and they will just target the Redskins weaknesses.
