Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups: Tight Ends (TE)

In this space, we will highlight recommended fantasy football waiver wire pickups to consider as candidates for Week Ten of the 2013 fantasy football season, and your fantasy football rosters. Today, we've got tight ends to watch out for.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 10 Tight Ends

rotoballer-fantasy-football-advice-tim-wrightTim Wright, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Wright had a good game against Seattle, hauling in four receptions for 58 yards and one TD. This was the second consecutive game in which he caught at least four passes and had a touchdown reception. Wright's upcoming matchup is fairly positive, and he could have another solid game facing the Dolphins. The Miami defense is giving up 252.2 pass yards per game and they have not played well against opposing tight ends. Additionally, Wright is benefitting from QB Mike Glennon's propensity to throw the ball a lot-- more passes means more potential targets, making Wright a decent bye-week fill-in.

Coby Fleener, Indianapolis Colts - Fleener was solid against the Texans, notching 64 receiving yards on three catches. He has 102 receiving yards over the last two games and seems to be in a groove. This week, Fleener and the Colts face the Rams, whose defense has been fairly stingy, allowing only 220.6 passing yards per game. You may want to consider an alternate option for Week 10.

Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit Lions - Pettigrew had a decent game against Dallas, catching three passes for 31 yards. He's only caught 26 passes on the season, but has a respectable 8.65 yards per reception. In Week 10, the Lions face a Bears team that's not particularly strong in defending the pass. In his first game against the Bears this season, Pettigrew went for 54 yards on seven catches, but you can expect Chicago to alter the defensive gameplan to account for him. He's not a terrible option in a pinch, but you should try to find a better matchup.

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles - Ertz had a good game against Oakland with five catches for 42 yards and his first career TD. The tight end does not catch too many passes with only 19 on the season, but he makes up for it with a solid 12.79 yards per reception. Ertz gets Green Bay in Week 10, which is a pretty good defensive matchup. QB Nick Foles is much more likely to target his tight ends than injured QB Mike Vick, so as long as Foles remains the starter in Philly, Ertz could continue to hold some fantasy value.
