Week 15 Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

I am loving Sammy Watkins this week and he just might be turning the corner towards elite status. The Redskins have really struggled against true #1’s this season, giving up big numbers to Alshon Jeffery, Odell Beckham and Mike Evans (considered a true #1 without Vincent Jackson anyway) to name a few. I’d definitely put Watkins in that category and I like him to go over 100 yards and a score this week. I have him at WR5.
I am surprisingly high on Emmanuel Sanders. Is part of that just me refusing to accept that Brock Osweiler can’t get him the ball? Maybe but this matchup is too good for me to pass on.
The Steelers give up the 7th most points to WRs and when they have faced two very talented receivers at the same time, they’ve been beaten bad (Raiders & Cardinals, you could argue the Bengals last week as well).
I would be seriously disappointed if Brock couldn’t make things happen here. We saw in his first start agains the Patriots that he is capable of connecting with Sanders. There is definitely some risk but I recommend keeping Sanders in the lineup this week.
On the low side we have Antonio Brown at WR13. Still very startable but I am going to respect the CB duo of Chris Harris and Aqib Talib for Denver. Their play against WRs this season - 400 fewer yards allowed than 2nd, just two touchdowns given up - ranks up there among the most dominant performances in recent history, right up there with the Seahawks at their very best.
They have been beat once this season, by the Vikings strangely enough, so it is possible. The Steelers have arguably the best WRs in the league and top five at the very least. This will be a really fun matchup to watch play out.
I think Brown’s ceiling is capped more than other great WRs this week which explains my ranking. The same goes for Martavis Bryant who I have at WR28. He is absolutely still a threat to score, but his yardage has been very up and down this season and this seems like a game where he is unlikely to go above 50 yards or so. He’s an alright flex and that is it.
On the deeper end, I am high on Devante Parker this week. He delivered a disappointment last week but there were positives too. He saw five targets and actually played the most snaps of any Dolphins WR.
At this point in the season it’s pretty evident that the Dolphins are committed to seeing what they have in Parker. He rewarded them with back-to-back weeks of 60+ yards and a score. He definitely is a bit boom or bust - but if you need a flex with upside, I really like Parker’s talent.
