It's All-Star week, meaning there are no teams playing more than three games, and there will be no games this weekend. Just because the players are taking time off, does not mean you should. In fact, this is a perfect time to let some dust clear, and evaluate your squad going forward. With trades, injuries, and shutdowns looming, there are plenty of guards out there on waivers, and the right moves could make a huge difference going forward.

Waiver Wire Guard For Right Now
Mo Williams (CHA, PG/SG) - 36% Owned
Yes you saw that team right, Williams is now a member of the Charlotte Hornets. With Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin both back from injury in Minnesota, Williams reduced role means he was probably dropped in your league. If he was, go grab him now.
Kemba Walker is out after having knee surgery, and at best bet, he'll miss six more weeks. Brian Roberts has not been the answer, and now that Williams is in town, he should have no problem continuing the injury replacement role he had filling in for Rubio in Minnesota.
Williams had his ups and downs in that role, but after a slow start, Williams was on a roll in the month of January. That month sawthe veteran point guard average 16.9 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.3 three pointers per contest. Those are mid round numbers, and there's no reason not to expect more of that now that Williams is with the Hornets.
Waiver Wire Guard For Deeper Leagues
Langston Galloway (NYK, PG/SG) - 28% Owned
I have tried to stay away from as many Knicks as I can (and this is coming from a Knick fan), but Galloway has finally caught my attention as someone to grab in deeper leagues.
There are definite flaws here, namely putrid field goal shooting, but Galloway has offered owners enough points, assists, threes, and steals to be relevant. He's also been a plus rebounder, offering 4.9 per game from the point guard spot, while limiting turnovers.
Still 11.3 points, three assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game don't scream "must add", but there's a lot of room for improvement here going forward. Anyone who has watched Carmelo Anthony limp around the last few games, knows there is a shutdown looming. I'd be shocked if Melo plays at all after the All-Star break to be quite honest, and it wouldn't shock me if Galloway ended up getting some extended run in an effort to see what his value is going forward.
Waiver Wire Guard To Keep An Eye On
Shabazz Muhammad (MIN, SG/SF) - 18% owned
Muhammad was making a name for himself in Minnesota for a backcourt that was decimated by injuries. Then he got hurt just as everyone was getting healthy, and looked to be entering a crowded situation.
Muhammed has only been back for one game, but he was still able to produce 18 points and eight boards in 23 minutes. The trade of Williams may help Shabazz find a few more minutes going forward, but he'll really gain a bunch of value if one of these Thad Young trade rumors comes to fruition.
I'm not sure Muhammed is a must add until Young is dealt, but if you want to make a speculative add here, I wouldn't call you crazy. After all, this is a guy who averaged 18.1 points and 5.3 rebounds, while making 4.7 trips to the foul line in the month of December. He played more than 28 minutes per game in that month, and if Muhammed can get close to that playing time again, he'll be a good source of points, rebounds, and free throw numbers going forward.
