Week 3 Tight Ends - Rankings & Matchups Analysis
I'm lowest on Delanie Walker this week, and the main factor here is the fact that he may be hindered by a hamstring tweak. If he's active, I wouldn't be shocked to see him limited or in a decoy role. However, if he is close to healthy by game time, he could be in for a big week as Marcus Mariota's top target against a very beatable Raiders defense.
I love Jacob Tamme in every format this week, as he is quickly establishing himself as Matt Ryan's number two option after Julio Jones. He has 11 catches for 126 yards and a score through two weeks, and he should add to that line in a big way against the Saints on Monday night.
Come on, Coby Fleener. COME ONNNNNN...if he and Brees can't get on the same page this week against the atrocious Falcons secondary, I'll have officially lost hope. By that I mean I'm going to keep trotting him out there every single week because the quarterback and the role are too good for him to fail all season. He'll break out eventually, and this game could be the one.
I was really high on Zach Miller coming into the season, and so far I've looked like a schmuck. I'm not quite ready to give up on him yet, especially with Brian Hoyer under center for the Bears. Miller should run some nice, safe routes that Hoyer can manage. If the Bears are able to get into the red zone, Miller should be Hoyer's first or second look.
I think I'm too low on Clive Walford this week. He's coming off his first six-catch game, and if the usage continues like that he could become an every-week streaming option. His Week 3 matchup with the Titans should provide a good measure, as they are historically weak against the tight end position.
