Welcome back to the Outfield Waiver Wire, where we look at the best outfielders available in at least 50 percent of Yahoo leagues. Consider this column your recommendations for Week 7 outfield waiver wire pickups.
It’s still early, so you may want to avoid getting too carried away with making too many major changes to your roster at this stage of the game. Tinkering on the edges, though? That's perfectly fine, and that's what this column is designed to help you do.

Week 7 Outfield (OF) Waiver Wire Targets
Kevin Pillar, OF, Toronto Blue Jays (49% owned)
It’s surprising to see Pillar still under the 50 percent ownership threshold. He’s hitting .314/.369/.497, with five home runs, six stolen bases, and 23 runs scored. That production is enough to make him a top 40 hitter overall right now. While he just hit his first homer of the month on Sunday, Pillar has batted .348 with four stolen bases and more walks than strikeouts over the first two weeks of May. He’s long since been snapped up in all my leagues. What are you waiting for?
Brandon Drury, 2B/3B/OF, Arizona Diamondbacks (46%)
Drury has only three homers to his credit and modest run production so far, but he’s also hitting well over .300 and boasts eligibility at three positions. He may also stand to benefit from A.J. Pollock’s reaggravated groin injury. If Pollock requires a stint on the disabled list, Drury’s a good candidate to move up in the batting order. He’s been stuck batting sixth most of the year. Even if he stays there, Drury’s versatility and ability to boost your team’s batting average make him an asset.
Scott Schebler, OF, Cincinnati Reds (44%)
Schebler sits just outside the top 10 in MLB in home runs, tied with seven other players who have hit 10 bombs. Even after going 0-for-4 on Sunday, he’s hitting .252/.324/.534 on the season. Schebler is also a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts, and he swiped double-digit bags in all four of his full seasons in the minor leagues. It wouldn’t be surprising at all if he ultimately produced a 25/10 season.
Jayson Werth, OF, Washington Nationals (34%)
Werth’s dealing with a tender groin at the moment, but he’s also been flashing vintage form this year. He’s slashed .303/.406/.505 with six homers, three steals, and 21 runs scored. Not bad for a guy who turns 38 this week. The Nationals’ lineup is firing on all cylinders, and most of the big guns are universally owned. Get a piece of the action by adding Werth, who’s inexplicably available in two-thirds of leagues right now.
Manuel Margot, OF, San Diego Padres (34%)
Margot made an appearance on this list in its very first week this season, and his hot start called into question whether he’d ever again dip below the cutoff point for inclusion. Obviously, that’s happened, but perhaps it shouldn’t have. Margot is hitting .324 so far in May, with as many walks as strikeouts. And while he’s been caught on half of his attempts, he’s still got five steals to his name. We know the Padres love to run, and speed is still a scarce commodity in our game.
