What's Going On With Eddie Lacy?

Fantasy Owners of Eddie Lacy should start to consider picking up back-up running back, James Starks, if they haven't already done so.

On Green Bay's first offensive possession yesterday against the San Diego Chargers, it was was Starks, not Lacy, who jogged onto the field alongside Aaron Rodgers. And it was Starks who out-rushed Lacy 112 yards on 10 carries to three yards on four carries. In the fourth quarter, Lacy barely touched the field, and was simply used to block for Rodgers on the snaps he was on the field for. Late in the game, Starks was targeted in the end zone. Once again, Lacy was not.

According to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, coach Mike McCarthy had been reluctant to give any details after the game about his franchise running back's lack of playing time. "We went with James first just because he's been playing extremely well, and Eddie has been a little banged up." This makes you wonder if Lacy's ankle is still bothering him from when he injured it Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Lacy was very coy in his post-game interview as well, telling reporters his ankle was "all right."

With Green Bay entering their Bye Week, keep an eye on Lacy's status. Even if Lacy is healthy, Starks could continue to carry the load.
