Why You Should Give Tony Romo and Dez Bryant the Nod in Week 11

The Dallas Cowboys’ may very well be America’s team, but from the looks of it Lady Luck certainly doesn’t care for them. While nearly all NFL teams must deal with injuries, few have had the misfortune of having to battle the majority of the season without both of their big-name stars. For the Cowboys, that list is led by none other than Dez Bryant and Tony Romo.

Bryant made his return to the Cowboys’ starting lineup a few weeks ago, but without Romo under center, Bryant has struggled to be effective out on the field. Even last week against Jameis Winston and the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bryant caught a measly five passes for 45 yards. Needless to say, he heard plenty from both fans and the media after the game for his apparent lack of effort.

Fortunately, during Dallas’ Week 11 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, Romo will be suited up and ready to go. Fantasy owners should start him with little to no hesitation when setting lineups. This is Romo’s first start since suffering a broken collarbone against the Philadelphia Eagles during Week 2 of the regular season, but there are plenty of reasons to expect that he’ll produce both in real life and in fantasy.

For starters, he’s been practicing in full pads and is ready to help make the Cowboys relevant again in an incredibly weak NFC East. Additionally, Romo’s comeback will be made easier by having his full contingent of weapons. When you choose to start Romo this week, your decision is supported by the likes of Terrance Williams, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant—a wideout who’s long overdue for a breakout performance.

Lastly, though the Dolphins have a fairly respectable defense and have only given up two passing touchdowns in the past two games against the Bills and Eagles, four quarterbacks have managed to bring their fantasy owners at least 20 points when facing Miami in 2015. While it’s highly unlikely the Cowboys make the playoffs, look for Romo to make a push this weekend.
