Will Venable (OF, SD) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper League, All NL-Only Leagues

ANALYSIS: Will Venable is a very underrated fantasy baseball contributor, and at this point is one of our sleepers for waiver wire pickups in deeper leagues. He can be a solid contributor while one of your starters is hurt or not playing, and can be a nice OF in deeper leagues with more than 3 OF slots. He provides a decent average, has notable power hitting 22 HR in 2013, and has good speed swiping 22 bags in 2013. He plays in San Diego, so his power numbers probably will max out around 25 HR, which is still plenty to contribute especially when you combine it with 20+ steal upside. These type of 20/20 guys just don't grow on trees. While Venable will not win your league for you, and is off to a slow start, he can definitely be your fourth or fifth outfielder and a reliable source of moderate home run and stolen base numbers. Currently only 35% owned, I just don't understand why he isn't owned in more than 50% of leagues. If he is still available in your deeper league, take a chance off the waiver wire and pick him up before he heats up and gets snagged up.
